Amani is a director, producer, creative consultant, and writer working in short film and narrative audio.

She was director and showrunner on Rusty Quill’s prestige series, Cry Havoc! Ask Questions Later; which featured on The Telegraph’s critics choice list and was hailed as being ‘pitched somewhere between Succession and Up Pompeii!’ You can listen to the series here. Amani enjoyed finding ways to make this audio experience as cinematic as possible in performance, sound design, and score. She recently completed on Broken Hearted Monsters, a monster comedy-drama which is part of the anthology Neon Inkwell series.

Amani is a regular guest director at Mountview Academy, where she has directed the BA Actors’ final year film projects since 2021, as well as showreels, and leads casting-for-screen workshops. She also wrote her most recent film for Mountview, Pranks.

Underwire Film Festival nominated Amani for the Best Screenwriter and XX (Producing) Awards in 2017 and 2019 respectively for Miss J and Lazy Money. Her Portraits anthology won an Honourable Mention for Best Experimental Film at the Vegas Movie Awards in 2019, while first short The Silent Gangsters took home the gong for Best Original Score at Southampton International Film Festival in 2015.

Amani trained and worked for several years as an actress, notable projects include The Spoils, alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Victoria & Abdul, starring Judi Dench, and The Kill Team, featuring Alexander Skarsgård. She is a judge for NYC Midnight’s Screenwriting Competition and has worked as a freelance reader for literary scouts writing reports on book-to-screen adaptations. Amani is of mixed Indian-Moroccan-Austrian descent and is French bilingual.
